REFLECTOR: LED lights

I have only LEDs on 444DX. I bought them from AVEO. They are made in the
US. They got there long before Whelan. People have said my plane looks
like a Xmas tree it is so bright and all I have is tip lights (with strobe)
and landing light (which I can make flash). Wiring was easy, all 20gage (as
best I remember).

See
http://www.aveoengineering.com/index.php/products-1/general-aviation-product
s

I am building a house right now and it will be as LEDed as I can make it.
In 5 years that is all there will be.

I would like to replace the position light bulbs in my Whelen 600 series
lights with LEDs. The factory says they are out of stock & to check Spruce.
They do not list a direct replacement.
The Robbers at Whelen say I have to spend mucho $$$ to replace the heads.
Not worth $700 bucks to me.
Anyone have an alternative source?

They are embedded above the structural layups, and are halogens at the
moment. The size is a bigger problem in this area. I might replace them
with LED's instead. I have used these before at night, and they really are
nice to use for inspecting and loading the airplane at night.

I have LED position lights. The name escapes me right now. They are
integrated with traditional strobes. I like them. As soon as I remember,
I'll post the link. When I went for LED lights, I was surprised at how much
Whelen was asking. If you go experimental, the pricing gets a lot more
reasonable.

This site has LED's that replace the bulbs. Total cost ~$60 per side.
(Spruce buys from them)
