REFLECTOR: MT Prop TBO

Hi TEC
My M-T-122 was leaking grease.
I have the special tool required to disassembly..
The My friend Dave Dent talked me thru the procedure.
.The hub was sent to Fla  MT for modification think the cost was  $800.
American prop in Reading Ca. supplied the parts.
I sent the blades to Catto for repair.$1200.
I  reassembled and had it bal laced.
now after 200 hours no leaks.

One data point.  In about 2002, all of the  props that MT worked on, they 
required that new seals be installed on the  props; at the owners expense, 
naturally.


It's not the seal, but the sealing area in the hub.  Prior to 02,  the 
sealing area in the hub where the seals sealed on was aluminum, the  hub material 
it's self.  It was found that the movement of the  blade/seals wore the aluminum 
sealing area.  Now they over-bore the  sealing area in the hub, and press in 
a stainless steal ring in the hub for  the seals to seal against.  Not cheap 
and they will try to soak you for  it.  Pitch a fit and insist that they cover 
the modification.  Of  course the hub must go back to the mutha-land for the 
work.
