REFLECTOR: Intumescent Fire Protection

Please Google "iintumescent fire pillows" and info will come up on fire 
pillows.

Pillows are used on penetration of  fire rated walls. The ratings can be 1,2 
3 or 4 hours. They are used on pipe, trays and any other item that goes 
through a fire rated wall with the purpose of maintaining the required 
rating of the wall..

The fire proofing system of pillow blocks can be used but once and new 
pillows must be used to continue the fire rating.

I am not aware of expanding pillows. The fireproofing properties come from 
applied chemicals in the pillow that produces a gas that is cooler than the 
heat around the pillow and thwarts the heat that wants to travel to the cool 
side.
