REFLECTOR: Wheel (Whale) pants

My wheel pants are basically finished except for deciding which style to  
have. Is there any input on whether to have the main pants like example 1 (two  
halves) or the "alternate method" (the main body with all the fasteners on the  
inside wheel cutout). 
 
It looks like the alternative method would look cleaner and have better  
lines, while the 2-half method would sure save time. 
 
Opinions appreciated!
