REFLECTOR: Tacos, Burrito or Fajita?

I am trying to determine which Nose Landing Gear strut I have and if it one of the units that has been superceded with a new design.  I have a 173 RG circa 1995 with the original strut.  Can anyone shed some light as to whether this strut is OK or has it been replaced by a unit with different material, temper, or reinforcement?

My nose gear fork has been replaced, the original was of the series prone to failure.
