Ahhh this is cool.  I found a 42" x 48" piece of .020 stainless at one of our 
local metal places for 27 bucks!.  That ought to do nicely. The metal 
supermarket wanted almost 90 for a piece just the size of the firewall. 

Thanks for all the input on this, I hope to have all this done and the engine 
back on by the end of the week ( Cherokee annual permitting). 

Then... Engine start.
