REFLECTOR: GA Scare Article in Boston Globe

Here's my note to the Boston Globe:

This fear mongering article can only help the Al Qaeda in its long term
goals of disrupting the American way of life. Further, it provides a
blueprint for terrorists to attack our football (or NASCAR, or baseball,
World Series!)  Incidentally, you should also describe how the Al Qaeda
could use a limousine, Ryder truck, SUV, or even a Volkswagen (more bomb
carrying payload than a Cessna 172).

WE as citizens of a free country (freedoms fading fast!), need to understand
there is no way we can protect ourselves against all of the evil that our
enemies would plot against us.  Else, let us all move into our bomb shelters
so that we can be totally safe.

Alex is correct, AOPA (and EAA) does a wonderful job of educating (straightening out ) the media.  If you're not a member yet, please send your dues in ASAP.  We need all the help we can get against those that would reduce our freedoms even further!!!!

  Just in case you hadn't already, I sent that along to AOPA- they are really good at handling that sort of thing,,,,  anyone  can fill a car or minivan up with explosives (a lot more then will fit into a 172) and drive into any crowd, anywhere, anytime- I don't see them concerned about removing cars from the road even after you see the car bombings that go on everyday practically in the middle east.   I suppose we should all just live in constant fear provided by the media- sells more papers..........

    I urge all of us to respond to this threat against our GA freedoms by the sensationalist media.  This tripe will lead to more TFR's, restricted areas, security at our small airports (have you noticed the miles of fences being put up around the mid size airports?????).  Eventually we will lose the freedom to fly our airplanes anywhere.
