If you are not aware of it already, you may try the web site
www.aeroelectric.com . It has a great deal of free information that you can
download. It also has a book that I just ordered that is updated pretty
often (mine was from March of 2004). It is obviously written by an engineer
but in a manner that even this lowly JD can understand. This is Bob
Nuckolls site. I have been seeing his name associated with homebuilt
aviation and the electrical systems they use for about as long as I can
remember. I just got the book. So far I think it was well worth the $30.50
.

I have a total of about 11 green, yellow, and red indicator lights on my
panel design for various alerts and circuit indicators. I'd appreciate some
input on what to use. Seems LEDs would be the way to go - less likely to
burn out then lamps. Being electronically challenged in certain areas, I'd
have a hard time choosing from all the LEDs in the Digikey catalog. Is
there a type that takes 12v, or do I need resisters in series, or a
transformer.
BTW; they are set up so none of them are on when in normal flight status.
