Yes, that would be the obvious (to us) way to stop.  I'm talking about the
novice that is not used to that particular airplane.

All it would take is one lazy moment, and a pilot (most likely not the
builder) to ruin a good thing.

If I were the only pilot?  Yep, I'd probably back out of the hangar.  But
then one of my old buddies would want to borrow the plane, and they've seen
me do it lots of times, so it must be easy.

Of course steering would involve the use of brakes unless one had a
steerable nosewheel.

Hmmm, steerable nosewheel.  I drew up some plans for a steerable nosewheel
that uses a single hydraulic cylinder, a ratcheting/releasing nosewheel
assembly with a planetary gear that might get built one of these days.  My
design calls for a dual stage master brake cylinder similar to an automotive
design, so the steering is integrated into the brake pedal assembly.

There goes another 200 hours.
