REFLECTOR: magneto gear IO540

I’m replacing a bag mag with Light speed ignition. The drive gear that on the mag is out.  I removed the drive cushion. But do you remove the Magneto drive gear retainer assembly ( what the cushion fit in). I don’t see what holds the gear retainer in. My manual does not talk about it. It a IO540
