Why don't you use Dzus fasteners.... They do exactly what you want and they are removable when you slide the cowl in or out....

I have not had difficulties with the camlocks but I used camlocks only at the cowling/wing interface and used screws where the cowling/fuselage juncture.  I have not seen an easy way to remove and re-attach the cowlings.  JT

Richard/All,
Any data on incidents of camlocks letting go in-flight? I thought they were fairly well engineered to prevent that.
