The black stuff is not normal.  It sounds like contamination or manuf defect of one of the orings.  You definitely want to replace the orings when you get home. And flush the system with new fluid to make sure you don't have contamination. We depend on our brakes more in a V than tractor configured planes and you want them always at there peak.
When you flush the system be sure to push fluid through from the caliper towards the master cylinder..  and of course use the proper type of brake fluid.
