REFLECTOR: Fuel strakes

Jim Agnew passed along a couple of good tips that worked great for me (No
leaks).

1. Build up some really wide tracks on top of all the baffles and bulkheads.
Put duct tape on the top skin as you form-fit the tracks to the skin so you
can release the skin and repeat the process 2-3 times. I think I built up
the width of the tracks with two or three fittings of the top skin. Each
fitting added maybe 1/4 inch to the width of the tracks. My final tracks
were at least 3/4" wide.
2. Buy 3 or 4 latex based caulk tubes and empty them. Use soap and warm
water to clean them up. When you're ready to apply the top skin to the
baffles, fill one of the tubes with your epoxy mixture and lay a nice thick
bead on all the tracks. The caulking tubes make it really fast and easy to
get a consistent, thick bead on the tracks.
3. When you apply the top skin down on to the tracks, the beads will spread
out and give you a great fit that won't leak.
