REFLECTOR: Vent Check Valve No-Yes

Yes, It is an Addition to, not a replacement of. Seemed like a good idea out here, you know how fast mud dobbers can work. You can see mine up near the top of the firewall coming down from the vent block. Can just see the top of the valve as I seem to have a lot of Stuph in the way:

So its hanging off the main vent feed, open to the cabin,  installed so it flows into the vent system.

Got it, sounds like a good thing.

The check valve is a back-up in case the main vent (going to the bottom of the fuselage) gets blocked with ice or by bugs.  It lets cabin air in if a vacuum tries to form in the vent system, but doesn't allow fuel vapors into the cabin.  It does nothing until the main vent gets clogged up.

   Their fuel vents don't have one way valves.
 
 If you smell fuel in the cabin you have a leak!  Nothing to do with that 
 one way valve.
