REFLECTOR: Windshield defog

Most of the computer fans are brushless type, and should not cause any radio
noise.

Just make sure you check the type of motor used in non aviation fans. You do
not want static on your radios every time you turn on the fan.

NO they have brushes and are very electronically noisy  I used brush-less
electronic fans.

 

I do have two bilge fans that are only for forced In/Out for the overhead
vents while on the ground and one in the oil cooler duct to help cool the
oil at low speeds or while holding so the interference is acceptable.

And did you put a diffuser on the glareshield or just have it blow straight

Hi Don,

I'm doing the same thing except I have a small 3" fan to act as a defoger or
a? radio stack cooler.
seems to work.
