REFLECTOR: Nose gear didn't lock

The microswitch bracket is supposed to limit the

overcenter travel of the nose gear linkage.  But a hard landing can bend the

bracket up or push the keel attachment bolts up if the holes are a little

sloppy.  Are you sure the bracket hasn't been bent a little, or pushed up a

little in the bolt holes causing the microswitch lever arm to need the

adjustment?

I'm quite certain that, if correctly adjusted; the over center travel is
limited by the end of the travel of the gear retract cylinder.  When that is
set right, you then mount the microswitch bracket so that it just touches
the linkage.  The bracket serves as backup to the end of the cylinder travel
(although it is not really very strong), and is a good place to mount the
microswitch.
