REFLECTOR: Franklin injector port

Hi Mike,

After finding out what they wanted for the primer rails I made up my own.  I only use the center primer port on each side and the engine starts in one turn or less.  I currently use Exxon Elite.  My initial oil consumption during break-in with straight mineral oil was a quart every 2 hours and is now half that at 75 hours.

That's great. My last annual I had all 80/80 the A&P could not believe
that after ten years the engine could be in such good shape. See what
changing your oil every 25 hrs. and adding AV Blend can do for you.
Great engines aren't they.

I have the fuel injector rails connected to each manifold, but I only use
them for priming. $1800.00 for the pair. Ouch. I figured that if I ever
had a fuel pump go south, I can use the electric pump and the primer
switch to limp home.

  I'm doing my annual and took the opportunity to take a picture of the plugged injector port on my Franklin engine.  This was a custom mod made for a customer in Brazil who canceled his order.  This was done through Atlas Motors back in '95.  I don't know who did the actual machine work but if Mr. Goodman is still floating around somewhere he would know.  I expect that this would work better than a manifold mounted injector.  By the way, my compression check came up 79/80 on all but one that was 77/80.  That was taken cold 72 hours after last run.
