REFLECTOR: Insulation?

I thought I read somewhere in the distant past that white was actually a
better heat reflector than a mirrored surface.  If that is true, how about
painting the phenolic board white?

 

Maybe if you had a perfectly smooth surface that was perfectly white; which
will never happen with paint.
