Regarding a "waterproof" cover.  Plexiglas absorbs water which is what  makes 
it opaque with age.  A waterproof cover will trap moisture between  the cover 
and the plexi.  "How can it get between the "waterproof" cover  and glass?"  
It does.  The trapped moisture cannot evaporate as  easily under the 
waterproof material, and is absorbed by the plexi.  A  "breathable" material is best 
and will keep the daily condensation off and sun  rays out.  Talk to any 
windshield manufacture and they will confirm  this.  A good coat of car wax on the 
plexi will help keep moisture from  absorbing into the plexi.
