Hello Members of the Velocity Community:
It has been my understanding that very recently there have been serious
accusations as to my integrity.
Let me first say that as a 5000 hr + professional pilot I have always
maintained a personal and professional ethic regarding partying and flying.
Although as disappointing as it may be, you can not force a pilot to fly when my
authority tells me I'm not comfortable, regardless of the price.

I have had over 40+ successful first flights without incident, different
types of aircraft manly Velocities, DO NOT QUESTION MY AUTHORITY AS A PILOT and
MECANIC!!! I trust that I have the support from the factory and my friends
to back me up. I have letters of accommodation and recommendations from very
prominent bushiness clientele including high ranking members of the United
States Air Force.

I have not yet made up my mind whether I will pursue legal action on this
slander. Thanks to all my friends for their support, (you know who you are)!!!
Remember (IMSAFE). I will continue to test fly and promote Experimental
Aviation. See you all at Oshkosh I am hoping to be there with a 400+ HP BD-4.

Thanks for letting me vent,
Steven R. Murphree ATP, CFII, MEI, A&P soon to be IA

I had a similar experience. I hired Steve to come up to Granby, CO to do
first flight and to provide transition training. After Monday -Thursday of
sick excuses I forced the first flight. It was brief but successful, thank
God. He was too sick to go up later that day or for Friday. When I took
him to the airport on Saturday, he was too drunk to get on a plane. I later
got my training at the factory - a much better move.

Mac asked me not to put it on the Reflector and Steve said that he now had
it all together so I let it ride. It was a mistake on my part not to share
the story. Steve needs serious professional help and I hope he gets it
soon - before he kills himself and/or someone else. Jerry Teitsma
