REFLECTOR: crankshaft seal

   I just returned from canard flyin at Kanab and someone there mentioned that on pusher engines a retainer is required on lycoming engines. I am about to replace a leaking seal on my IO360  Leakcoming. Does anyone have any information on the retainer?
