REFLECTOR: pitot tube angle

I'm not sure of the size of your Pitot tube ( or if I should even ask :)   I 
put a straight, heated Pitot in mine also.  What I did was to notch a spot so 
that it nestles right in a trough in the top of the landing light housing. The 
entire heating element is out in the free air. Also, Mine was a 28 volt 
"known ice" tube... Hook it up to 14V and it is about right. 
 
I can send you a pic or two if you like (bypassing the reflector limits)
