REFLECTOR: Gear doors

I would guess that if you added  "Lopresti" style cuffs to the underside of
the wing in front of and behind the wheel, it would reduce that 5 kts
considerably- also removing the foreword facing lip on the well would help a
bit....

Tom,

You've flown with and with out main gear doors?   Lost 5 knots with out the
main doors?    I thought somebody posted a long time ago that the speed
penalty was less than that?

Man, I hate to lose 5 knots!!! :-)

Duane once told me that the gear doors are the only thing that limit the

extension speed.
