REFLECTOR: gear problems

Hello Guys,

    In following the Reflector for several years there has been a steady stream of difficulties involving retractable gear installations.  Velocity doesn't seem to be the only aircraft experiencing retract problems either, the handful of other offerings with retractable options have similar pains.  This brings another question to point:  Have there been any problems with the fixed gear installations and we just haven't heard much about them, or are they bullet-proof?
