REFLECTOR: alternative engines

OK; one more comment on this subject and I'll bow out.  Along with all the
cautions and tribulations regarding pursuing an alternate engine
installation, let's not forget that there are reasons for doing it.

 

I don't consider it some mystical 'calling'.  It is in pursuit of the solid
technical, performance, and operational advantages that are possible.  I'd
say the evidence at this point is that I have achieved those to a good
degree.  Initial cost savings was not a factor, although there was some of
that.  Downstream MUCH lower maintenance and overhaul costs is a nice bonus.
