You can buy wireleess backup cameras for cars with a small collored screen that is activated by the camera powering on.  Color, very wide angle and the picture orintation can be reversed so right is right.

About $100.

I would like to put a couple cameras on board.  One that can see the
engine and gear and possibly one that see's forward.

Wireless would be the easiest so I would just have to run power to the
camera(s).  Has anybody had the 2.4 Ghz camera's running on their
airplane?  Any problem with the radios? Magnetos interfering with the
cameras?

Scott, do you really want to put IP wireless into the plane?  How about a
CCTV cam doing exactly what you describe, going to a small panel/cheapo car
dvd player?  No need for a computer/router for the IP stuff.

Board cam is small, so is the bullet cam.
And yes, they even have a self contained IP cam/receiver.....with IR
illumination!
