I would say then it's the former.  Centered on the ground, and centered in
the air, but both not in trail.

 

If the cable is clamped at both ends, what additional clamping and where,
will fix the flex problem?  Keep in mind that this is a -5 with the drop
down keel, so we have another bellcrank in the middle of the aileron torque
tube.  We don't have any freeplay in the stick but if one guy hold one
aileron and another moves the other you can get some play.

When flying and wings are leveled . is the stick centered?

 

If centered on the ground with ailerons matching . and centered in the air
with one aileron higher . there may be excessive slack in the routing of the
aileron cable causing it to flex under pressure giving one side extra
length.

 

If not centered in the air . it is simply a matter of a heavy wing.

 

Washers at the upper or lower attached points can trim out any "heaviness"
and level wings.  In your case, you'd want to trim your right (heavy) wing
up and/or your left wind down.

John and I want some opinions on our aileron rigging.  We have a "heavy"
right wing.  When we keep the aircraft level both ailerons are 3/16" up from
"in-trail".  The right wing is up more.  But on the ground they adjust to
in-trail with the stick centered.  Any suggestions?
