REFLECTOR: Franklin Oil Seal

Hmmm.  Sounds like your leak is a bit more than mine was.  My leak
didn't affect the IVO although a different leak at another time at 1/2
qt/hr did prevent pitch adjustment.  Before going to the trouble of
replacing the seal, try using high temp silicone sealant.  Remove the
keeper and clean the seal and engine case with gas.  Apply a coat of
sealant on the seal (aft surface) and the adjacent case area, and on the
keeper.  Install the keeper and loosely snug.  After the sealant cures
overnight, tighten the keeper all the way.  After doing this, mine has
held well for 150 hours now.
