I had a friend that had a RV6 with an O-360 Lycoming 180 hp engine that he
had changed the carburetor/fuel system, and the mags to electronic ignition.
These units were non certified, non engine type certificated units. The FAA
inspector that issued his airworthiness certificate made him remove the
Lycoming data plate. He was told that he no longer had a Lycoming engine, he
had a John Doe engine.
