REFLECTOR: Nose door cylinder repair kit

Maybe I'm missing something but I still don't see what holds the doors 

open until the gear is clear of them?  Are there other springs some 

where that are not visible in the picture?

Perhaps you have to visualize that the eyelet on the gear leg travels in an
arc; forward and then up. As it comes forward there would still be a
downward component on the doors, which isn't released until the eyelet on
the leg passes 'over center' of the eyelets on the door hinge.  Presumably
by that time the wheel is sufficiently in the door.

 

At least that's my take.
