REFLECTOR: OT...What's happening DownUnder

Thanks for asking Chuck..(& G'Day Crew!)

 

Winter.definitely not up to glassing temps and whatever the "heat of the
day"- it is relatively short. As we are beyond June 22 (shortest day-length)
already.we're on the upswing to Spring, which, like much of the US (and for
Autumn), is an absolutely fantastic time of the year.

 

Gradually filling panel space with instruments bought off eBay.still going
for a few steam gauges (AI, Altimeter, T & B) - the rest will be electronic
Dynon/Airmap/Digitrak etc...but as my our friend Dave Black advises.these
can wait, along with the powerplant till the very last moment. I have a
Maule & several other projects (including an airstrip & Spacewalker II) that
prevent me from being anything other than a slow builder.

 

After seeing all the terrorist happenings around the World (witness India
lately!) .I'm so glad to have the wide open blue skies of OZ as my
backyard..perhaps some of you blokes might like to come down and take a few
weeks "walkabout" down here while your dollar still has considerable
exchange rate advantage.all the signs point that within 12 to 18 months
things aren't going to be quite the same (to put it mildly!)

Yes, I am.  He says he never got to the section in the plans for the anchor
either, though at that point of the build process they all look like they
could use one.  Jim has a good sense of humor---he can handle it.

Good photo.  I could see the sails in the back ground but didn't see the
keel with the lead ballast..no oar locks either-guess you aren't that far
along in the plans?

Robin,

 

Attached is a picture of my cradle that served me fine.  It was made of 2" x
4"s & plywood on 4 large casters so it could be easily moved.  Notice the 4
camper leveling screw jacks at the corners that allowed quick and easy
leveling.  Once you use the jacks (I used a digital level) you learn just
how many turns per degree of level are required.
