REFLECTOR: FM-300 and RSA 5AD1

Assuming the RSA 5AD1 and the FM-300 can provide the
same amount of air/fuel to your engine, then Steve is
correct. The FM-200, for example, can't provide enough
to maximize your engine's potential once you get over
say 300HP. Ideally the fuel controller isn't what's
limiting the amount of HP your engine can generate. 

Also, the throat diameter of the FM-200 is smaller
than the throat diameter of the induction chamber of
the IO-540K. The standard adapter plates are crude at
best which disrupts the flow of the induction air. The
throat diameter of the FM-300 matches that of the
induction chamber of the IO-540K. If the RSA 5AD1 was
made for this application, then chances are it matches
too and won't be restrictive. Your engine builder can
probably help shed some light on this as well - I
deferred to mine to recommend a fuel controller.

I'm sure Airflow performance would be able to outline
what *they think* the advantages of their units are -
I suspect they will claim to do a better job of
metering.
