Hey Ken,
I suppose the bad news was that with the back seat full of kids
you probably had to remove the portable air conditioner.
Sounds like a great trip. One of my favorite trips in the
islands was to Cat Island. Great quiet place to relax,fish and dive.
Last weekend the wife and I took the velocity to lakefront airport
in Cleveland Ohio. 2 hours enroute from Virginia. Spent the day at 
the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and a night at the Rennisance Hotel.
Sort of added to a new definition of the $100 hamburger. Everything
you want in a neat little Big City is within walking distance of the 
Lakefront Airport. The airport is right downtown and the approach is 
right over the Brown's stadium. Great summer or fall trip but I bet
the lakefront is cold in the winter.
Used the Aviate FBO they were great AOPA discount no parking fee 
and if the weather looks bad they will put you in a hangar
 (no cost they said)
Ken is right the freedom we enjoy once you finish building is GREAT.
