REFLECTOR: Main gear toe-in

Jack the plane up. Measure between the ends of the stub axles, divide this  
number by 2.
 
Drop a line straight down from the nose with a plumb bob and make a mark.  
Measure out from this spot to each side and mark the 1" toe-in points. 
 
Loosen the stub axles. Use a laser pointer on the end of the axle stub and  
adjust the axle stub on the gear leg until the pointer is hitting the mark;  
tighten the bolts. It will likely be necessary to file/grind down the flox seat  
you formed on gear leg so that when the bolts are tight the laser point is  
on the marks. At the same time you set the stub axles so that they are  sloping 
down 11 or 12 degrees from the gear leg end to the outer  end. 
 
When this is all done, remount the wheels.
 
The toe-in and camber are set with the gear in the air and the  plane level 
in all directions. When the weight is on the gear you may (or  may not) lose 
some of the toe-in and most of the camber. Just remember that the  gear will be 
toed in when the plane is landing. When the gear hits or you apply  brakes, 
etc., you may lose the toe in as the legs flex. You do not set the  camber and 
toe-in to 1" when the weight is on the gear.
 
I am dealing with an XL FG. I do not know about an RG and whether or not  
this is the system to use.
