REFLECTOR: WEIGHT & BALANCE

Scott and Tom;

My suggested Velocity POH (my kit was delivered in 1999) shows the aft limit of 120.75" for both the standard and long wing versions of my Std Elite.  However, in a recent post to Larry Parham, Scott says that the 173 has a rear limit of 122.0".  

I would think that for a IO 540 on a 173, getting to 122.0"  while single pilot could be a real problem. Scott, what is the absolute recommended aft CG limit on a 173???

  The info you seek is in the suggested Velocity POH.  What W&B info did you present to the FAA/DAR when they did the inspection for your airworthiness certificate?  Don't tell me they issued a certificate without an official W&B?

    I have looked through every downloadable builder's manual on Velocity's website and can't find any specific weight and balance information.  I realize the we can set our own Max Gross Weight (within reason) ... but certainly there must be a published CG envelope somewhere.  Anyone have any ideas?
