Naw...  Thats stretching credulity...

You have to watch wooden props also or they will get loose and come off, 
usually quite catastrophically.   Why you'd think Hartzel would stop 
selling wooden props to all those idiotic pilots, since they can't 
follow instructions to check torque every 25 hours!

IVO stopped selling to people with ALL Lycomings and ALL Continentals 
above 150 HP because no matter how carefully they attended to the prop, 
they would self disassemble.

IVO is in business for one thing and one thing only, Make Money!  
Cutting off 95% of the availble large engine market becasue of a few 
Darwin challenged individuals doesn't cut it..

Think what you will to make flying in front of an IVO feel comfortable, 
but in general they have not done well on aircraft engines above 150 
HP.  Maybe auto engines run so smooth they hang in there much better?
