REFLECTOR: Glide Ratio and systems knowledge

The reason for the focus on airspeed and how it relates to descent rate
for the glide ratio is obvious. However, there is one datapoint that
you can put in the bank; if you are on the ILS glideslope and your
engine goes down, you will too....but not on the runway. If I recall
correctly, the engine out descent angle is generally between 4-5 degree
with the CS prop feathered and the fixed unit windmilling. Unless you
truly 'have the runway made', efforts to stretch it invariably ends
badly. Better to touchdown off airport at 4-5 degrees than 90.
