REFLECTOR: Smooth Prime

Yes, PolyFiber has discontinued the waterborne "Top Gloss" system.  Most
people had good success with it, but it was very process sensitive.  In
particular, it was critical to have low humidity to completely dry each
coat.  It doesn't make business sense to sell a product that's going to be a
huge problem for a significant minority of its users, so it's gone.

However, the "UV Smooth Prime" still has a place in the market.  You just
have to think of it as a final surface filler, not a primer.  The primer you
put over it has to be part of a system with the top coat.

A couple years ago I had to remove all the top coat and smooth prime 
from my canard.   It bubbled when exposed to rain.  I used Polyfiber's 
primer and top coat system and had the problem.  Somebody suggested it 
was the propane heaters I used to heat my shop while painting that 
caused the poor adhesion, 

I don't know what caused it but I won't use it anymore.
