John,
No, with a carburetor the mixture balance between cylinders is generally acknowledged to be rather poor.  An extreme difference of one cylinder may indicate a vacuum leak.  I am assuming that at cruise, you are running the mixture rich-of-peak.  From there, any leaning will increase EGT (and CHT).
