REFLECTOR: Eliminate Stupid Batteries (ESB) Unit.

A couple of years ago when I purchased my portable Bose Headset, I went thru 
2 or 3         9 volt batteries quickly and decided an ESB Unit was needed. 
Talked to Bose about the problem but their only solution swaping for a hard 
wired unit which was not acceptable. 
With some electrical tests found that a 7.5 volt supply could replace the 9 
volt battery. 
MY ESB UNIT
>From Radio Shack buy a Universal Low Power DC Adapter, #273-1811, $20 and a 
9 VOLT Battery connector #270-324 $2.59. The  Adapter is automotive that 
plugs into a lighter and contained an in line fuse. I hard wired the plus and 
minus lighter end to my master bus behind the panel ( or you could add a lighter 
outlet and plug unit into it). Set the adapter switch to 7.5 volts. I ran the 
output wire under my keel cover to the Bose plugs (which are located in the 
keel near my hip). Continued output wire along Bose Headset Cables to battery box 
(using tie-wraps to fasten to cables) Cut off existing plug on end of output 
wire and hardwire the battery connector to out put wire so connector mimics a 
9 volt battery.MAKE SURE POLARITYOF MIMIC CONNECTOR IS CORRECT PLUS AND MINUS. 
Remove existing 9 volt battery and cut a block of blue foam the same size as 
the battery. Now install the blue foam block and the mimic connector so blue 
foam pushes the connector terminals against the battery box conductors. MAKE 
SURE POLARITY IS CORRECT. Cut a small notch in battery box cover to allow 
connector wires to exit then reinstall battery box cover. Voila, you have a ESB 
Unit. So far my unit has worked perfectly for over 2 years and two of my RV 
friends installed the same unit in their  RV's.
I think there could be a market for a simple ready to install electronic ESB 
Unit.??????
