REFLECTOR: Factory damage

Hurricane Jeanne hit Sebastian hard...
Scott Swing just called me with information regarding Hurricane Jeanne. The
eye of hurricane Jeanne hit Vero Beach & Sebastian very hard with category 3
winds (much stronger than hurricane Francis). Fortunately all personnel are
safe.

There are 3 large hangar buildings at the Velocity factory. Both the new
storage hangar and the original production facility came through Jeanne with
only minor damage. However, the Service Center hangar was hit very hard.
Scott thinks a twister may have hit it, as the beams were all twisted and
feels that that building is beyond repair. There were 6 customer projects
(kits in various stages of construction) in the Service Center. All have
varying degrees of damage. Most of the damage was to the wings, since they
were stored on a rack. Scott said that, with some work, all projects can be
repaired.

After Hurricane Francis, it took almost 2 weeks prior to power being
restored. Scott feels it will take at least weeks before power and phone
service is restored. Factory personnel will be cleaning up debree for at
least that long.

Needless to say, we need to give factory personnel some time to recover.
Plan on at least 2 weeks for eMail or telephone communications to be
restored. Scott said Duane would be calling me soon with more info. I'll
keep you all posted as I receive updates from the Swings (as I did with
Hurricane Francis)...
