REFLECTOR: Aircraft Inspection prior to flight

Well, it may be real handy, but it's not legal.  As to being open to
interpretation, it's the FAA's interpretation that would get your ticket
pulled.  I'm sure this regulation has been violated hundreds of times, but
don't be the one who gets caught!  You can also check the EAA's guidance on
this matter - it's pretty clear.
