REFLECTOR: NAV LIGHTS & STROBES

There may be times when you want to cut the strobes off but leave the nav lights on:

1 - On the ramp at night next to another plane that is taxiing too - the strobes can be annoying/blinding to nearby pilots.

2 - In the clouds - there is a placard that recommends turning the strobes off to prevent vertigo from the high intensity reflected flashing lights. 

Easy to install now and adds very little weight.

  With wingtip strobes and built-in nav lights, how important is it to have them switched separately?  When I installed them, I had the option of switching them separately ... and did not do it.  I can still run the wire to do it (thought it would be a pain) ... but how necessary is it?
