REFLECTOR: Nose Gear Axle

Maybe we have a different axle???

By slot I mean there is a groove milled into one end of the axle.  The 
Allen screw as it is tightened should go into this groove or slot.  This 
prevents the axle from unscrewing itself, it is locked down, even if it 
vibrates it cannot unscrew or screw further in because it is captured by 
the Allen screw in the slot.

I was told by a factory A&P that the correct method of installing the axle 
was to insert teh axle into the fork, screw it in until the slot lines up 
with the Allen screw. Screw in the Allen screw so it engages the slot but 
does not bottom out on the axle. Then screw the axle in further, this will 
tighten everything up as the axle pulls against the two forks as it is 
captured by the Allen screw and the threaded end. Once the axle is tight, 
ie. no play in the spacers and wheel,  tighten down on the Allen 
screw.  Then put another Allen screw on top of the one you just tightened 
to insure it won't come out.
