REFLECTOR:SWRFI - Texas

    I was at SWRFI Scott.  The weather was ghastly all week long and scarred
a lot of people away, but it broke up by mid-day on Friday and was pretty
nice on Saturday.  --  Very unusual weather for this time of year, it's
typically blue skies and gentle breezes about now.  It was good to see
Brendan and Nathan, and they made a friendly and positive impression on
everyone stopping by.  I hear through the grapevine that a better system for
traffic control is being worked on for next season, but no details for now.
    Although the weather was a fluke this year, they are projecting for
about 1500 aircraft next year (thus the need for better traffic control) so
send at least two airplanes next time.  That way one can be for show while
one flies.  Nathan had to stand around twiddling his thumbs hoping somebody
would stick around to talk to while Brendan was doing demo rides.  Velocity
was right by Lancair and even though they had about half a dozen aircraft to
show, Velocity  pulled a lot of prospects away from them while the airplane
was there to look at.
    Hopefully a bunch of us will have ours finished by next year and it
would look real good to park a whole bunch of V's right across the taxiway
from the Velocity's vendors space!  That would be impressive...
