Welcome to the Reflector.
Regarding your question on slow speed landing problem: Try sealing the 
top-side gap between the ailerons and the trailing edges of the wings. Use 3/4" or 
1" tape i.e. 3M type from any Ace or other hardware store. Initially I had 
little or no aileron authority below 95 knots. Taping the gap was a great 
improvement and I have full authority to 80 knots. 
Another test, - oil the aileron hinges, then go flying. After landing look 
for span-wise
"streaks" of oil across the ailerons. If excessive,i.e. more than 45 degrees 
from direction of travel you may have to contemplate using fences.

Let us hear more about your nose gear incident. There has been quite a few of 
them lately, including one of mine.
