| I believe their main purpose is to prevent air 'sliding' lengthwise down
the
| wings. This helps reduce the likelyhood of trailing wing stall when you
are
| crabbing.

Ah, that is one thing I have not done with my V (well there is some other
stuff too!), but I have never crabbed my V like I did with the Cessna.

When landing in a cross wind, I will kick in some rudder to get aligned with
the runway at touchdown.  But nothing else.
