OK, from analyzing the answers so far, the cure for high temps on taxi and
hold
is to:
1} Male sure the plenum is tight around the cylinders. DONE
2} Lean like hell while idling. ALWAYS DO.
3} use bilge fan to cool oil. HAVEN'T DONE THAT YET
4} Make sure cowl is as close to prop as possible. DONE
5} make slots on lower cowl for air to exit.
Scott Swing already tried # 5 with minimal results.
Maybe mounting a big fan (ala Volkswagen) with the top nacca scoop
will resolve the heat problem?????
