REFLECTOR: Hydraulic Pump Leak..fluid levels

You are correct, I forgot to convert the diameter to radius on the
calculation for the rod - either way, I am not sure of the rod diameter but
it really does not have to be too large since it is acting in tension for
our application, so the difference in fluid level in the reservoir will be
approximately 1.1 oz for the main cylinder and maybe .5 oz for the nose- not
too large, but you definitely want the cap vented.

      Just as a rough guess (not being at the aircraft this morning) but if
the main cyl is 1.5" diameter, and the rod is .375 diameter, then the
difference would be 25% in both volume and power calculations- with a
(another guess) stroke length of 18" this would be a difference of 4.4 oz
of fluid- the nose cylinder probably adds another oz or so.

  FYI;
  1.5" equals 1.76 square inch, where as .375 equals .1104 square inch.
(dia. squared X .7854). This is a difference of less than 7%.
