Al,

Almost all standard fuel gauges use a 0-240 ohm resistive
sender.  I have Westac gauges and sender and the gauge
doesn't care if the sender is a float resistor type or a
capacitive.  As far as the interface being proprietary
that's ridiculous except to lock you into their equipment.

I had ordered it for a Mitchell gauge; which was for 0-90 Ohm.  I don't
recall why I got it from Skysports rather than Westach.

These probes come in a number of flavors for different gauges, identified by
the part #.  The 0 - 5 volt is common for digit and graphic displays.
